The baby Meerkats are so cute, hardly able to stand on their rear legs O/\
The small Honey Badger is adorable as well. I would never have thought that I would find this ferocious animal so touching !
Great snakes pics too ^Q^

What a day!!! First you got that really nice encounter with Hanri and her cub, then those cute little squirrels and a "tame" steenbok that doesn't run of straight away and then… drumroll… the most flabbertastic sighting one can have of a honey badger, in my opinion! Although I got to see something similar by now as well, the quality of your sighting makes me go drooling all over my keyboard :-0

Alf, Flutts, RP, Dindingwe, and Mel - thanks to each of you for sharing in my excitement over the HB encounter - it really was special to us. I'm surprised it's not seen more often since it appears they move the cubs quite regularly??? Anyway - moving along… :-) :-)

A couple more "families" -

Blue-eyed Blonde - this male lost one of its eyes somehow, but appears he's not having trouble finding companionship.

A couple of rats with a pet lizard ;-)

A new mommy -

Misc. birds -

The Harsh Reality of Animal Life - Finding food is difficult enough. Killing it without being injured is yet another challenge. Keeping it from other predators and scavengers - not so easy. Here's what one Tawny Eagle had to endure just to get a bite to eat:

Image

After successfully beheading the snake, another bird of prey swoops in…

Image

…no meal to be had for now.

Eating will have to wait until the eagle can find a spot where it can partake in peace.

Image

Image

Peace at last??

Image

Nope…

Image

What next? …locusts, alien sinister forces? :O^

Image

None of the above:

Forced to move yet again, the Tawny flew over the dune, so we didn't see how this example of the daily struggles of wild animals ended.

Whenever I'm having a rough day, I think back to how incredibly harsh the lives of the Kalahari animals are, and that really gives me perspective on how good I have it.

Well done with two whistling rats. It is hard enough to find one ;-)

I saw the blind lion a couple of times in Nov. 2017. Once with TWO ladies O**

Fantastic sequence of the tawny \O Yes, sometimes both raptors and predators have a tough life  Not to talk about snakes, springboks and similar lol

Great photo of the mousebird ^Q^ ^Q^

I lost another chapter while I was in Singwedzi 0*\

A short glimpse of a cape cobra is all that I have seen of snakes, not only in KTP, but in all the parks I have been too :-?

A remarkable, unique, marvellous Honey badger sighting  O/\ O/\

Mel had a pic of a honey badger with offspring; I wonder if it was the same one -O-
