Catching up again... and impressed again throughout, of course
But what caught my eye most was your very unique zebra "collage". Awesome set up
And please jog my memory... you do walk down to the river, right? Aka, lions on foot?

Yes Mel, I do walk down to the river. I have traversing rights on the two properties either side of me. This gives me about 5Km of road that I walk on as well. I haven't encountered Lion on foot yet, but I have had Hyaena, Elephant and Buffalo while walking. It's amazing to walk in the area, you just need to keep alert to warning signs from other animals. I don't risk walking during the early morning or evenings.

Exhilarating experience, but a bit scary too

What was scary this morning, was the lack of life due to the wet and cold weather. I did get an Elephant herd very early, but the light was non-existent to get a shot.
The light did improve slightly, allowing me to get pic of this Tawny. It was either yawning or venting it's frustration over the wet weather...

Other species enjoyed the rain on the road, it made for an easy place to drink. This Laughing Dove stopped drinking as soon as I lifted the camera...

The rain also brought the Tortoises to the road...

Look at the branches behind these Zebra, there are new green leaves...

Hopefully the weather will be better for photography next weekend. Until then...

There is also something strange on the left-hand side of the snout; it looks like a plastic slip

Interesting, Sprotjie!
The tortoise does look a bit battered!
