That's not possible. It would have to go through the Sabi Sand reserve :-?

Thank you so much for highlighting points of interest, Toko! 0/0 \O

Lis, the hotel was in the past financial year's SP budget, but only R200 million...already over budget by now, with contractors/consultants appointed and deadlines set...which seems to marginalise this whole BAR process somewhat? 0- :X:

The most scary thing is the rampant increase in gate visitor numbers! This must surely include day visitors, as accommodation has remained the same?

So SP has been monitoring that all along...

What about staff village/compound visitors and delivery vehicles? @#$

I may mention once again, utterance from a previous source,
all to do with swapping beds!!!

Also take note that some of this new development will take
place on already disturbed land, hence more attachment to
a infrastructure of notable activity!!

Perhaps here it may be noted that camp fences hold the same
integrity as boundary fences, meaning a line needs to be drawn!!!

That is a nonsense story...unless someone is willing to pay for some sort of major new access route applicable to the massive tourist/delivery/park and ride volume increase...it will cost more than the hotel! 0*\

The last two above will not be interested in an alternative route.

One can google the costs of even elementary upgrading/resurfacing routes with heavy traffic, never mind a bridge!

From the IAP consultation: Comment and Response Report
Concern that project cost will be higher than initially planned

Response:
SANParks has engaged the services of a Professional Quantity Surveyor to control the costs relating to the project. As the design progresses from Concept Design to Detailed Documentation, the accuracy of the Estimated Cost of the Lodge will improve. Currently there is a 5% contingency in the cost estimate to accommodate this. It is planned that the facility will be fully documented at the time of tender and that minimal provisional sums will be included in the Principal Building Tender to minimize cost risk during construction. Ultimately the cost for the development will be established through market conditions at the time of construction as well as unforeseen items outside of the control of SANParks and the Consultant Team. More information can be provided should it be needed.

This seems like a cop-out...

I don't know how normal projects work, but assume you quote and do the job? Overspending is surely the bidder's problem after that?

Rubbish!
