Re: Dimwits Bateleur 2017 - The Shining
Then we ran off into the camp for some peace and quiet!
A very nice spot is the reception hut bench, with a fishpond in the shape of Africa!
(You can see South Africa has gone to hell in a handbasket... )
We doubled back to camp sneakily, leaving leachy to comb the lower suburbs for us in vain!
The heat had apparently driven one of the locals insane as well...Dwarf had copied Frewells and als bought himself a Samoosa ...a red one...which closes its side mirrors up against the car for some reason...
Now one can see birds fighting themselves in mirrors quite often, but this one clearly went looking for trouble using past experience! Crazy!
Bird: "It is I, Bulbul! Pwepawe to meet youwe Doom, you wotten wefwection!"
Reflection: "Oh no, I have been discovered!"
Bird: "Unwestwicted wawfawe! No suwendew!"
Reflection: "Pwease...please have mercy!"
Bird: "I shall nevew wetweeeet!"
Leachy returned and I wetweated to the hide again!
Finally peace descended and we did the chicken thing, courtesy of Grandmeister!
Dunno why Frewells holds his glass like that?
Dwarf's effeminate showering kit...

The bulbul...
But why would Dwarf bring such a soap "sponge" thingy?

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Did she come?
(Don't answer... just the logical question considering that "sponge" thingy and your answer )

Re: Dimwits Bateleur 2017 - The Shining
Right, found backups of pics!
Borderline has also eventually delivered a pic from way back at Sable Dam...
Day 2 Part 1!
I try and drive a few kilometres every year for some exercise!
The Samoosa II is very strong and goes straight, so you just put it into 2nd or 3rd gear and it goes by itself...here is me with no hands or feet!
It also has some seats in the back which fold down into the boot, so to speak. Frewells quite enjoys sitting there for some reason!
It is also a bit scary as one's legs disappear into the car!
Anyway, down to Rooibosrant Dam...one of two private dams for Bateleur!
It is huge! This is only about the top 3rd!
Leachy arrived eventually too, having taken his own transport, as is his wont. here is a view of the other side:
A SURE sign of drought!
It was starting to get hot, and the dam is actually crappy as one cannot go down to the water's edge anymore like the old days, for some reason... A steenbok!
And brunch, which was clever of us, to use Bateleur to its maximum, so to speak!
However, the next of many little Phalaborwa surprises made itself known...one of our packs of "bacon" was this...none of us even knew such a thing existed!

We gave it to leachy..who was having his own breakfast of pap or something, as is his wont. At least the most important ingredient was there!
We then noticed this on one of the roof poles, and had a grand time theorising about what it was...
RP: "It's wrapped around there to suffocate the wood-boring bees!"
Dw: "It are for ve rats!"
Frew: "It was left behind during construction!"
Bl: " "
leachy: " "
And this top step is a very cunning trap at night, trust me! it is darker than the rest so you think the next one is the first, and fall the whole time!
