The plates were like that in 2012 and I was horrified Like jeans with pre-made holes

I love white storks Today I saw hundreds and hundreds of them at the Tihongynoeni waterhole on the Capricorn loop. It was fantastic

Lis! Designer enamel plates...who would have thought it! The white storks are lovely!

Going back to the weavers, at Lower Sabie we watched a Southern Masked-weaver build a beautiful nest, the wife came to inspect and then he built another one. Wife came back to inspect both and then he tore one down! Anna was amazed at their ability to build such a work of art, and at the fact that the wife could be so fussy!

Lower Sabie - Satara

Kumana Dam was nice and full.



We had to show Anna the southern-most baobab. I can't remember when I last saw it with its summer foliage!



More baboons for Anna to ooh and ahh over!



We got to Satara quite early and were allowed to check-in, but were told to come back later for the key. They told us the unit number so we decided to go and have a look at it. When we got to the unit, the cleaning lady was just finishing off and told us we could move in!

I'd booked a 6-sleeper guest cottage, which was the same price as two tents at Lower Sabie...there was no comparison!! There was a tree blocking our view a bit, but that's just being picky!



It had a lovely big lounge and dining room, large kitchen, two huge bedrooms and two bathrooms - one with a shower and one with a bath. There was also a big verandah.











Everyone was very impressed with the accommodation. I was just glad that we were ending our trip here...it would have been a bit of let down to go from this accommodation to the tents at Lower Sabie.

The southernmost Baobab is such a beautiful tree; it looks almost the same as in 2008, but not quite

These 6 bed cottages at Satara are never available. You were lucky to get one. I think the 6 bed cottages at Letaba have much better furniture

If you haven't tried them both, you wouldn't know

We actually never sat inside so we didn't try that furniture! But it would have been nice to have that option in Lower Sabie with the rain!

Lower Sabie has limited accommodation for families 4+. It’s actually sad.
