Thanks, RP
Definitely the new male on the block
Although the former one was quite a sight to behold as well...
But that's life for them - you win some, you lose some (at the end).

13th to 19th April 2019 Urikaruus - Continued
After that the day became it's usual quiet again. However, we did manage to find ourselves the only spotted eagle owl on this trip.
For the evening drive we decided that Itumeleng would probably not bring her kid around just yet. Still some 5 kays to walk with such a small cub didn't seem likely to any of us, including the wise camp attendant Eric. So we decided to go back south again to see if Urinanib would get on the move again. But either he had escaped unseen somewhen throughout the day or he was still snoring away in the bush. In any case, we didn't see him again. We decided to turn around and have a sundowner at Kamqua before heading back to the camp again. While standing and watching our friends arrived as well, so we watched this springbok
and this nicely lit giraffe with her funny drinking mouth together.

The next morning we decided to go down south again. Still looking for Miera - but only after having waited out leopard o'clock at the camp waterhole. Itumeleng once again didn't show
Anyways, the meerkats were out and about again, so we sat with them and watched their antics until the decided to vanish into their abode for the day.

At Houmoed two black-headed herons were trying their luck with catching the smaller birds drinking. But those obviously were aware of the viciousness of the bigger birds and kept their distance

One the way up towards the camp again, a kestrel begged nicely for a photo to be taken:
And a jackal buzzard sitting on the ground, being harrassed by a pale chanting goshawk caught my eye.
The sighting was pretty far up on the dunes but I found my new camera managed the job quite nicely. The pictures of the old one certainly would not have been posted due to way too much blur in them
Not top quality in these either, but alright for the amateur's eye

Such a special coloured raptor
The Leopards were not collaborating that day
It is kind of funny to see Herons in the KTP. There used to be only one
