A Lizard Buzzard
The bird with the eyes sticking out that I posted in the "Funny Photos" topic is a juv. black-crowned night-heron. I have never seen another one after that one 10 or more years ago.
Rattling cisticola sounds about right
At least you got a lion face.....more or less

even far away, but very special. I've never seen a Senegal Lapwing

, the Sable sighting and Y-B stork "shadow fishing" are also special.
The frosting on the cake, however, was obviously your evening with RP.

Just a question - who gets to join you next trip, Dad or RP?

Not a great lion sighting, but lions nonetheless!

I have never seen a little bee-eater
Four hornbills going to a funeral

They are such funny birds, without knowing it
Also the barn owls are not kidding

They are quite small, which is difficult to make out in a photo.
