The Search for bert...and a Tribute to Oom Eddie.

This was last April, and has a special place for me, as Oom Eddie passed away from complications regarding pancreatic cancer on Sunday evening. There are not many pics, but it was a great single evening trip, especially the last morning, relaxation-wise, where neither of us knew he was sick...

He was my second father...almost 20 years together, but a very naughty fellow.

Anyway, he won't mind jokes! ;-)

bert is an old friend from another forum, and we were rushing to meet him and his SO at Lower Sabie, entering via Malelane after picking up pre-ordered food with the AW discount of 5%, which still works! ^0^

A kudu!

Then a bateleur bumshot!

With a better pic!

More tomorrow!

So we were a bit late, and may have to have been leaving a dust trail on the Bume road, so may have attracted some attention...it was school holidays, so we were sticking out like small thumbs...

The cops arrived:

I was wearing my AW shirt, so waved politely! Oom Eddie, on the other hand (If you'll excuse the pun) was giving the cops the finger for chasing the bateleur away... O-/

Anyway, we were spared and headed on... X#X

Sardelli's bluegums, which I tried to explain to my copilot, but got more of the same manual treatment, as we were late... --00--

This is how late we were....

Note the pixellated edges of the sun! O\/ O/\
