2012-12-11 Smith
We did not see Smit as well
Lower Dune road turn in the Aoub at 06:11.
The Auchterlonie Female and Warona (as a 3 month old cub) had just crossed the main road coming from the west. They walked across the rover bed and up the bank the other side, we lost them momentarily in some think bushes. We drove up the turn towards KielieKrankie in the hope of catching them when they crested the ridge. When we got up there we found a cheetah standing about 50 m from the edge of the river bed. He was surveying the upper plane. We took a few pics but didn't stay long as we guessed that the leopards would not emerge. In the end they walked back down the bank and headed south out of sight of the cheetah. We didn't see the cheetah again. Quite a lucky escape.
I've only just managed to identify this cheetah as Smith. We didn't see Smit around but i would guess he was close by somewhere. This is a large crop but at full resolution.
