Day 1 Part 5:

Now things are a lot different, as Uncle Blacksheep is driving the Golden Goose, and I am passenger...more earlier!



Uncle Blacksheep: "Wow, we are two lucky sonofabishes! What a day!"

RP: "Correctsh!! Those rare antelopesh!"

UB: "Ja, but a bit of time away from the womensh! Cheersh!!"

RP: "Cheersh! Watch that mopane tree!"

UB: "Whoopsh! Hahaahaahh!"

RP: "Haahaaaah!"



Now it had been a long and fruitful and overpowering overload sort of day for me...Nelspruit to Pafuri in one day is no joke! 8)


RP: "Shtop!!"

UB: "Why! We're back on the road!"

RP: "No! Babalala!"

UB: "But we're not there yetsh! Vroom! This car ish amazshing"














Now it's the weirdest thing, but we had been the first to identify this named tusker on the family trip two years earlier, and there he was!

















UB: "But I washn't on that trip!?"

RP: "A technicality! Mosht of ush were!"

UB: "Sho legally you may not make that shtatement!"

RP: "Look, my friend, you are no lawyer, and I don't think there will be legal wrangl...rwang...discussionsh on this trip!"

UB: "Good point!"












And so we bade a hasty farewell to this old chap, and arrived at Pafuri a few seconds later!

Ja...he's seen Big five 10 times plus about 500 wild dog and 20 cheetah already...starting to sound like Bushcraft! :roll:

Post Script Day 1



Prinsadam had been first to arrive at Camp, long before the 14h00 clock-in time (He probably threatened legal action or something), and as it was his "kosbeurt", had begun a Potjie or two...also some exotic ingredients which I forget!




18h00:

PA: "Hellooooo, my bestest brothers and familyyyy! Helloooo!"

20h00:

PA: "Hellooooo, my faamishst beshtily and thobbersh! Helloooo!"

Momprins: "So how's he doing?"

RP: "His hand is fine! We used a lot of ice, and the burn wasn't too serious at all, Mommy!"

MP: "What happened?'

RP: "Nothing, really, Mommy...he just forgot to use the 'vatlap' once to lift the lid, or something! But he did very well up to that point! "

MP: "I hope you boys behave for the rest of the trip!"

RP: "Ag no, Mommy! How do you know us! What could possibly go wrong? :lol: "

MP: "Just bring me a glass of wine, please... :roll: "

RP: "Certainly!"

Day 1 Part 4:




Uncle Blacksheep and I were In great form after the earlier big tusker sighting, and even crossed the Shingwedzi River Bridge without any major mishaps!





UB: "Wow that was close!"

RP: "Yes... "

UB: "Maybe you should drive!?"

RP: "No...Don't worry! It was an innocent mistake!....at least we know the Golden Goose can traverse river sand and embankments!"

Together: "I think that deserves a beer...Haahaaah!"







Then, as if the day hadn't been good enough so far, these beauties a few km north of Shing, and a very rare location for them! (A herd of about 15):























UB: "Excellent shot of them crosshing the road!"

RP: "Yesh! I think Sho!"



I don't know how on earth that happened...but anyway...here are the pics left after my PC crash! :

Now Uncle Blacksheep and I were building up quite a head of steam, enjoying some malt and a spot of Clegg on the 8-track on our way up from Mopane to Shing!

(Lovely stuff!...Ahhhhh!)







RP: "You seem to building up quite a head of steam!"

UB: "Ja! A bit of a rest from the ball and chain doesh no harm!"

RP: "Err, yes....no...(You never know who may be watching this TR...)...I agree or dishagree, whichever ish more convenient! Anyway, relax! We shouldn't shee much more this afternoon...let's just get there! "

UB: (Singing voice, which is not pretty) "I'm shitting on top of Kilimanja.... WHOOOAAHHOOOWWW!!!!!!"





















RP: "Machachule!"

UB: "I Agree!!!! Ma se..."

RP: "No! It's Machachule, a known tusker! We saw on this same trip 2 years ago in the same spot, about 7km south of Shing! But you weren't here... "

























RP: "Here, kitty kitty!"

RP and UB together: "BWAAAHAHAAAAH!"

RP: "Hello, Machachule! Long time no smell!"






Elephant: "I am not that of which you speak."





RP: "Whoooh! Then who are you then? -O -O"


Elephant: "Riceho."







RP&UB: "BWAAAHAHAHAHAAA!"

RP: "What a silly name! Sounds like a Vietnamese Lady of the Night!"

UB: " -O -O -O -O -O -O "







Riceho: "No, I have been identified by Aat, the renowned elephant big tusker expert, after a stream north of Shingwedzi. It is a Portuguese name"







RP&UB: "Gigglegigglegiggle..."

RP: "Yeah, right! What about the Greek stream on the South side! -O -O -O -O "

UB: "And Aat is a shilly name too! -O -O -O"






Riceho: "I do not find this amusing. Machachule told me about you. :roll: "





RP: "Well, your trunk dragging on the ground is quite amusing! -O -O -O !"





Riceho: "My trunk is NOT dragging on the ground. Want to make something of it? "























UB: "Whooooh! Big man! Back where we grew up in Mardersh Hotel we would have tought you a .....EEEK!"

RP: (Spluttering) "Go! Go! Go!"
