There are many holes ... full of Ground Squirrels (who run when you open a bag of chips), many birds and even a Jackal sitting right under the balcony and waiting
But when, when visitors will they stop to feed them
waited for a long time
cute
Cape Glossy Starling
Southern Grey-headed Sparrow/Moineau Sud-Africain

5/7.11.2014 – KTC – No.1 – Jan
5.11.2015
7:30 ... a funny noise
a tractor made go and return, just in front of our cottage ... to fetch water at the cottage No. 9
I thought, that the traces I saw last evening were maintaining the fire barrier... missed
squirrels also pay the price ... I hope they will all be fast enough to avoid the huge wheels.
A Springboks group run away, we search the reasons, nothing apparent..., no predator, is it the tractor, in any case nobody will come this morning at the waterhole ... thank you tractor
Ivan the truck
return
devant le No 9
fait le plein

Black-chested Prinia/Prinia à plastron
White-browed Sparrow-Weaver/Mahali à sourcils blancs
Laughing Dove/Tourterelle maillée
Luckily we only stay one night, for electricity, we will certainly have more chance at KTC

Again, depart for the South, as far as possible to be back around 16h. We will stay 3 nights in this camp and we must carry all.
I booked the tent No. 1, Honey Moon
I was familiar with, it is much larger than all the others, has a door at the bathroom, that have no other, a larger terrace, and most importantly, nobody, on our left, the neighbor on the right side is invisible and is positioned to have a beautiful sunset. The waterhole is a bit far, but almost all the tents are also quite far away.
What I did not knew ....

Never again, never again I will take that piece of road ... how few km can wipe out a wonderful journey and a dream camp
Was this the road going out. We asked them if they can't fix the corrugations a bit at the top of the dune in 2013, but obviously its either been ruined again or not done. Why don't they change the directions of the route every month so that you don't have this problem.
Nice lion and brownie sighting at Gharagab.
Did you stay in no 2? Last time we also got a Cape cobra there but did not realize its home was under the cabin.
The old water hole was already closed in Dec 2013, but you could still see the out-line of the old water hole. Maybe the water stays longer in the new one, but agree it looks quite small.
At last, somebody,
you, understand what I would like to say
the road had about 40cm deep holes
it seems this road is for fun (as per I heard)... what fun ... back fun... car fun...
I think your idea to change the direction of the route every month or so will be a good one. Nice to drive in the dunes... but "normal" dunes
for the new waterhole... water maybe can stay longer... if water comes
the old one was much more beautifull
we stayed in Nr 3 and it seem there is a lot of Cobras everywhere in the camp
but it's a marvelous camps, with a busy waterhole... even without water

Bushveld Jock wrote:Hi nan,
Nossob will be 10 new units, luxury tented camp, moving of the fence and road plus all the new sewer and water lines to the new reedbed system. We will see and hope its the last of the madness.
We are going to KTC, but will check out the riverbed near Uri to see if we can't see those two leopards.
The FB Kgalagadi Sightings removed the post as they only want to discuss the nice part of KTP. Its now only on a closed group called Kgalagadi Photographers.
10 new units is much too much and I think will be a lot of nuisance
Hope you will find these 2 Leopards and much more of them
will have a look at Kgalagadi Photographers
thank you BC

They changed the bed, the only huge bed, against a conventional double bed
Bed brand new, narrow, Honey Moon, with my nephew ...
he has something to talk the whole neighborhood
Besides, I have made laughing the keeper David, who has made laughing all the staff
But don't worry ... everything went well
Honey Moon ...2009
... 2014
