I once again marvel at your fortune to be able to live in a place like Grietjie
Looking through the last few pages it feels like it must be an adventure every day with all the animals around and the great sightings you seem to have all the time.
The adventure continues...
It has been a crazy week. Early in the week an Elephant lost its life in a battle with another Elephant bull. I stopped at the carcass almost everyday, but I only saw Vultures and a few Jackal at the carcass. There are reports of Lion and Hyaena at the carcass at night.
I will just post some of the Vulture pics I took, no words just images...

Wow, excellent
And at least for a while these endangered birds have the meal for themselves.

I left the carcass and the Vultures, I hadn't gone far when I spotted a Lioness coming towards me in the dry grass. Little did I know what a cool sighting it would turn out to be.
Here comes the Lioness...

While following the Lions, the big male turned off the road and started sniffing the bush around him...

He then started to scent mark the area...

He did this quite a few times against different bushes and trees...

After following them for quite a long distance, they turned off the road. I went around to another road and waited for them. Not too long after that the were back in view, but just to cross the road and then entered another block and the visual was lost. But, an awesome sighting...

Watching vultures at a carcass is quite fascinating, methinks. Especially when they start "bickering" for the best position.
Great shots
And lions yet again - wow!

The elephant is so big, that there don't seem to be the usual battling for a place. There is enough for everybody
Some nice pics of the vultures
