Re: Richprins' Short Business Trips to The Park
So we stopped at an unnamed seasonal pan on the N'watimhiri Road...not much to see, but so peaceful you can't believe!

The light was marvellous, coming from the East, and no tourists at all!
These were the biggest game to come and visit, yet priceless!

We stayed there for hours!

A rare bird pic from me...but there was some sort of hamerkop squabble going on, endlessly, and endlessly...Italian family type problems?
Never seen so many attack before!

And then another bird attack from the rear! Pic taken by an adjacent tourist, but check the beautiful lines of the vehicle!

Re: Richprins' Short Business Trips to The Park
So we left, after a wonderful time!
This impala with a goiter problem:

Then a get-out at Malelane Gate....

The funny thing is, I remember the visit mostly with that morning sunshine at the waterhole....
Two weeks ago I saw Oom Eddie for the last time in the staffroom, with the same sunshine at roughly the same time of year...I hate the sun, but sat quite comfortably in it chatting to him and his family there, just right!
And then the same sun pestered me through the window of the church at his funeral...
Weird, but that's it!
Cheers, Oom Eddie!

I know all about Italian family type problems, and they are endless - they can hold a grudge forever!!

Eish, sorry RP, I've been AWOL here.
Sorry about the loss of your friend, but good to have some great memories to cherish.
Interesting Hammerkop behaviour. Territorial dispute?
Looks like the tide was going out at the unnamed seasonal pan on the N'watimhiri Road. -O

No worries, Dewi..I can't get to all the TR's either...
It was a mating thing, I think, with one female and a number of males posturing and fighting?
Thanks!

Next: Clan of the Cavebrowns
This will be the tale of a humble delivery of AW memorabilia to Bushcraft and fam, in my luxury German panelvan, organised mostly by BC...only a 1 nighter, mercifully!
But it is also a record attempt, trying to synchronise one day with a new hamster as far as dual TRs go.
