Cool pic Lis \O

This jackal must have been doing something very similar just before coming to get a drink. I only noticed his red face and full belly when checking the photos when I got home 0*\ 0*\

I'd be happy with a belly like that as well (assuming I was a jackal, that is). :-0

Spekboom Camp

I stayed at Spekboom tented camp for the first time back in November. The tents in the camp have recently been upgraded -they're more like canvas on a timber frame now, with plenty of space inside. I forgot to take any photos of the tents 0*\ but I'll be staying in the park in a weeks time, so I'll try and pop over to the camp and take some snaps \O

Staying there was great. I always enjoy a remote bush feeling, and with just 5 tents in the camp and no-one else for miles around it certainly achieves that. O/\ O/\

In the evening we had some Kudu very close to the camp fence, and were treated to a stunning sunset.

The night was filled with the sounds of jackal cries and whoops from hyenas, whilst in the early morning a big herd of buffalo came through.

If you are happy with the idea of camping then it's a great spot to stay a night or two \O

Am I mistaken - I thought Spekboom was a reasonably new camp anyway,
and now it has been upgraded already? :-?
