Caught up, Mel,
and you obviously saw all the brownies at Grootkolk
plus lovely cheetahs and his majesty and cute critters
and then to your bird - Love the bee eaters but for sure the crimson breasted chicks are the cutest

I knew it... as soon as the birds come out it becomes a girls' only event
But thank you ladies I shall swiftly add some more

The Lifers
Green-winged pytilia
Short-toed rock thrush
I had never ever seen those birds in the park before, but this time they were at every corner

Then the raptors
The black-shouldered kite were everywhere when I usually have to content to see like four or five.
Plenty of bateleur along both riverbed sides.
Oh, listen up Jeep-t-shirt lady: This is what a real bateleur looks like

Quite a few snake-eagles around as well, but by far not as plenty as the BSK or the bateleurs.
And if you dare to ask me which of the two it is, I will have to kill you because I'm totally unsure
But my guess is that it is a black-chested snake-eagle (which is called black-breasted snake-eagle these days )
because of its total front looks like an adult just in kinda reverse colours

And in contrast there is this which might be rather the brown snake-eagle
But either way... this is an important bird, even if the capture isn't that great. I didn't have much time to adjust my settings.
Something was coming into the way
