So they amended their rules and aat's work is now prohibited?!
They have no idea just how much they are putting off their members lately. At least those who care.
Glad I only worked on the KTP cheetahs on this forum...

Aat, it's not the first time you have problems with your Tuskers...
I'm glad that "we" was successful to obtain an AWARD for all your wonderful work .... it once was ... and it was not so easy, we struggled ... for a good cause
never, NEVER give a name of OUR Cheetahs on the other side
and now, what about AstroMatt

Re: Tuskers of Kruger
They are experts in disregarding valuable efforts by SPF members promoting KNP and SPF and think they can do better, I bet they won't come up with a regularely updated database.
Shame, SPF
Wonder what will happen if you post a cheetah, leopard or elephant with a name in a travel tale
And I second what others said: Aat's effort and knowledge are awesome and much appreciated

So it's PROHIBITED! What are they going to do? Ban Aat from the Yellow forum? That's their loss!

Re: Tuskers of Kruger
Well this is very a very interesting development and quite unexpected!
Obviously this ruling doesn't effect what is done on this site and other external ones, and I would even say that no one should worry about posting the names of animals on the SPF either, i guess all that could happen is the mods censor the posts and give warnings. In my opinion what you choose to name an animal is completely up to you. If a group of people decide to get together and decide to name a group of animals that is up to them.
I do see, and I do agree that if there are lots of different groups naming the same animals then it would get very confusing for everyone and could hamper and damage any official research efforts, but here SANParks would be better to try and be inclusive and use these other groups to help and assist the projects, rather than make a very aggressive ruling and alienating them. SANParks doesn't achieve anything by doing this.
I hope aat is trying to contact SANParks about this as it seems absolutely wasteful of all their efforts and knowledge.
I will certainly be making a few enquires of my own.
