Satara

The H7 was very quiet and we were soon back at camp. As we approached the gate we saw this ellie leaving the waterhole. I think it could be Satara 01.



He had some nice tusks but he didn't look right. Besides his floppy ear, his face looked misshapen.





It was now definitely time for a regmaker breakfast! The champagne and orange juice didn't go down as easily as the wine the night before!

Anna just loves Mrs Balls chutney and puts it on everything!



After breakfast, we all took a much-needed nap, except for Anna who'd had a nice lie-in . As we'd got back to camp very early we were ready for an afternoon drive at 2pm. We wanted to show Jonty and Anna the deck at Olifants, so we headed up the H1-4. Just outside camp were some more babies.



Not sure of this model...another Steppe Buzzard maybe?

Dunno about the ellie...he is just bleddie old!

I still don't know how you manage the birds so nicely against the bright backdrop!

You have to use a bit of witchcraft on the computer, if they are not too bad

Maybe it's just the angle of his head that makes the ellie look strange. No lunch....straight to dinner.

What would they have thought if there was Marmite?? Anna went to the shop and sat at the fence while we slept. I don't know what to tell you about the bird...just luck!

No witchcraft...I hardly didn anything to that pic except make it a bit brighter.

Yes, an odd ellie! The avo was for Anna's benefit but it was still good. Yes, Anna enjoyed African time.

I'd been wanting to do the new S147 , so now was our chance. I can understand why it's a one-way road...it's so narrow in some places.

More ellies.



Then I spotted another Verreaux's Eagle-owl.



This Fish-eagle was at eye-level, nice and close to the road.



No leopard for us, so it was back to the main road! The mighty Olifants River.

We got to Olifants and went to the deck...we were the only people there!
