The leopard was quite normal, that is just its "scared" posture?
Anyway, back to camp as said! Leachy had not booked in yet, he seems to follow his own procedure with this...
So he commandeered me and the Silver Suppository to take him to the office. I waited outside in the car with bated breath as the sky was darkening ominously, and he was busy gossiping away interminably with the staff...
I shouted at him from the car into the office, which is perhaps a bit common!
We just-just did NOT make it with the braai, my umpteenth Kruger braai failure in a row, but could at least get two sosaties and a portion of worse done in the pouring rain...amazing how the coals stay alive for quite a while!
(Soggy sandwiches...)
Leachy sat inside and hurled instructions, congratulations and insults through the door, depending on his tea level...
We started getting a bit silly after supper, comparing our torches in the dark...his is very big and mine is only small and hand-wound.
He eventually demanded some whiskey and promptly broke the glass on the floor and I cut my thumb badly picking up the glass it is amazing how much one bleeds from glass vs metal?
But there were lots of glasses!
The next morning, customary camp inspection!
This tree fell down long ago.
The marula fruit are a nightmare in February. One cannot believe how many come from a single tree!
The Sable is the emblem of Pretoriuskop, and there is a Trail named after it in camp, with markers:
