It's always great finding your own sightings!
Maybe Kruger is putting out plastic decoy birds now!

It's a pity they don't hang around for hours!
Thanks RP>
I agree!
Pumbaa wrote:Awesome sighting and shots of the spotted cat on the rock and even in the best light, Flutterby,
it is always great to spend time at Lake Panic when staying in Skukuza

Thanks Pumbaa. Lake Panic is nice if it's not too full.

Skukuza/Lower Sabie Area
So, at the end of the bridge we turned right as instructed. Just around the corner we saw 7 wild dogs next to the road!!

This was our 4th dog sighting....we have never seen so many before.

My dad even remarked that they can't be endangered anymore!

I remember Bushcraft saying that April was the best time to see wild dogs in the park and it seems to be true, but I would love to know why.

They were very comfortable until a very noisy staff vehicle pushed its way past and scared them off.

This dog had a limp.

We hadn't had a very long sighting but we were very happy with the morning's sightings!

We turned around and headed towards Lower Sabie.
Time for a manicure RP?
Waterbuck silhouette. This is actually a 'colour' photo...besides cropping I haven't done anything to it.
We stopped at Sunset Dam where we were entertained by lots of birds.
A Wood Sandpiper (I think).
Black-winged Stilt
The Brat just managed to get this Grey Heron in the frame.

Bushcraft only goes to the Park in April!
But ja, saw them near Skuks in April too!
Really good pics again, like the colour waterbuck, Flutts!
My nails are beautiful!

I guess it is not the month, Flutterby,
it is just the right place at the right time to see wild dogs

Great that you had that many sightings of them and for sure the area around Skukuza is good to spot them too

Catching up on the last three episode and what stood out for me was the nice new car you got yourself there, you Jeep Jockey
Then of course the marvellous leo sighting and basically all to yourself!!!

A real treat in Kruger

Well spotted, Brat.
And lastly... the wild dogs of course.

Something else to hopefully find next year since I only got to see a glimpse of a tail
of them ever so far.

BC does not only go in April!

I would disagree about your nails.

Hi Mel, thanks for popping again.

We did have some great sightings!

Holding thumbs you also find the doggies.

I was chuffed to spot this Marico Sunbird hopping around in a bush nearby.
We made a quick pit-stop at Lower Sabie and decided on our route back to Skukuza - across the low-level bridge and onto the S128 and S30.
At the bridge this croc was climbing the rapids, obviously hoping to catch some fish.
Maybe this one was waiting for some flying fish to come his way.
This Yellow-billed Stork lifted its left wing everytime it ducked its bill into the water.
It was a bad hair day for this Goliath Heron.
The S128 and S30 were very quiet but we enjoyed this scenic spot for a while.
