I don't want to criticise the elderly couple, but there is a very little excuse for not keeping the right distance in Kruger

Lots of relatives there, RP but keeping pigs as company is not very elegant

An unexpected one-night trip materialised to Skukuza in June last year, courtesy of leachy!

We went to visit an old friend....


At the crack of dawn, we decided to brave the Numbi road!

There was a security vehicle on the last stretch, this was around the time the tourist was killed...



And at the gate, not sure what the point is there, that is the only place one still finds them..



Ahhh, back in paradise!

Our first kill, a black-shouldered kite with a mice!

And for the first time that winter aminals actually drinking at a dam!

I often saw these Working On Water people in the park that year, dressed to kill and in great numbers, but they were always just standing or sitting...I still don't know what they are meant to do?





The thing with big-tusked elephant is that one sees the gleaming white of the tusks as the first thing standing out quite clearly from afar in the bush!

A group of "working" people in Kruger mostly means one or two working and the others looking or chatting; maybe they do shifts

A bit further an excited solo traveler who looked like a bit of a space cadet stopped us and told of a leopard on the new ting road up ahead!


So a new experience for us going on this road!


Shortly the traffic jam alerted us, you can see the leopard in the tree on the right:





One can just see a hyena at the bottom, I think?

Not a very good view...it jumped down and disappeared, with the hyena picking up its kill that had dropped.




We left, as one does with leachy at the helm, and just like that we were at Skukuza!




We left, as the shop was not to leachy's liking for lunch, and just like that we were at the Golf Club!

This was EXTREMELY pleasant and relaxing!
