Thanks for clarifying that Gabby, although it was never claimed that this page was associated to SP. ;) As SanParks wishes to have no association with Africa Wild I was going to delete this link, but in the interests of tolerance and assisting the public to report any wrong-doings in Kruger, I will leave it here.

Maybe I'm going soft, but all this negativity is not good. O/

I know it's happening, but could we maybe also post the good side of what goes on in the parks, if there is any? :-? :O^

Besoekers gaan wild in die wildtuin


Talle fotos verksyn op web van besoekers wat uit hul motors klim, selfs 'n vrou met twee klein kindertjies.

SKUKUZA - Daar is nou 'n webwerf waar besoekers foto's kan plaas van ander wildtuingangers wat die reëls oortree. Verskeie is na die onlangse langnaweek op Africa Wild se webforum geplaas.

Volgens mnr. William Mabasa, SANParke-woordvoerder vir die Nasionale Krugerwildtuin (NKW), veroordeel die bestuur enige oortreding van die reëls ten sterkste.

"Ongelukkig kan ons sekuriteits- en veiligheidspersoneel nie oral wees nie en moet ons grotendeels staatmaak op besoekers om hulself te gedra en die reëls te gehoorsaam."

Mabasa sê dat daar swaar boetes uitgereik kan word indien persone wat uit voertuie hang, leun, klim, of wat oop afslaankapmotors onwettig inbring, oorval word. Hy is van mening dat dié wat deur besoekers opgemerk en afgeneem is, met 'n toe dak binnegekom het. Hy maan ander om, indien hulle so 'n geval teëkom, dadelik die noodnommer wat op die permit verskyn, te skakel.

"Die noodsentrum sal onmiddellik ons wildwagters in kennis stel sodat hierdie mense op heterdaad betrap kan word."

Alle gevalle van oortreding moet aangemeld word voor die wildtuin aksie kan neem. Foto's soos dié wat op die webtuiste verskyn, waar die nommerplaat sigbaar is, is ideaal, sê Mabasa.

In 'n soortgelyke geval het Elize Oberholzer 'n verlate motor op 5 Augustus sowat 12km vanaf Talamati gesien. Volgens haar het sy dit aan die kamppersoneel aangemeld, wat gesê het dat hulle bewus daarvan was en dat dit al vir 'n week lank daar staan. Daar is op Africa Wild se webforum genoem dat die motor teen 17 Augustus steeds daar was.

Navrae in verband met die voorval is aan SANParke gerig, waarna Mabasa aangedui het dat die NKW bewus daarvan was en dat die eienaar die motor moes laat uistleep. Volgens hom het dit die insleepdiens egter etlike weke geneem om dit te doen.
