Geese, and in this case the Egyptian geese, are mongamous, one male and one female nest alone.
Should the mate die off during a mating season, the other goose will stay alone for the duration of the season.
They are normally quiet animals, but during mating season they are noisy with an elaborate courstship display, making loud honking noises.
They normally breed in the spring/ at the end of the dry season. In S.A. it could be anytime from July - September.
There are normally about 5 - 12 eggs and they are incubated for 28 - 30 days. The young fledge in 70 days.
