Know exactly what you mean! And we believe the same thing.

I thought you would!
Crazy, huh?

We saw the Kaap se Hoop turn-off but weren’t sure what the road was like or if it was a long-way round so we kept to the N4.

Waterval Boven – Tamboti, Part 2
About 5kms south of Tshokwane we came across a traffic jam, although there weren’t too many cars. The park was actually very quiet. The cars were all stopped on the right hand side of the road so we started scanning and I soon spotted this…
He was walking in the opposite direction so as we were last in the queue we managed to turn around and get in the front of the queue!

We could see he wanted to cross the road and stopped to give him a chance but of course all the other cars just passed us and we were near the back again!

We followed behind for almost 1km and eventually he dashed across the road and disappeared! This was definitely a first for us!!

Seeing cheetah on our first day in the park,

and before seeing any lions or leopards!!
We made a quick stop at Tshokwane and carried on towards Satara. As we approached Mazithi we remembered the Mazithi pride we saw there in October last year. Guess what? They were there again, under the same tree!!

Not great pics as they were quite far away. Last year we saw 13, this time we counted 9.
I’m sure the one standing on the right is the same young male we saw last year who wasn’t looking so well then, but he’s still around!
Pic from last year.
We could see they weren’t planning on moving, so carried on and found buffalo, lots of tortoises and wildebeest. At Kumana there were waterbuck, Black Storks, Wooly-necked storks and a croc.
The ever-present LBR!
