No they are not the same thing.
I was at the regional office this morning and asked a few questions about this camp. All that I can say is that SANParks marketing team have a lot to learn!
This camp is a temporary camp. It is being used to replace the trails camp that got destroyed in the floods and will be closed down again towards the end of September. It is not there for
anyone to book, it is only being used by people that had previous bookings at the trails camp.
Those prices include all meals (3 a day) and the walks and drives.
I can't understand how they can advertise it as a New Rustic Camp when it will no longer exist in two months time and nobody can make a booking for it. One and one is no longer two.

There is however, one new rustic camp, much like Tsendze, that is in the planning phase. This camp will be close to the Pafuri picnic spot, but a site has still to be identified.

This camp is advertised on the wildcard site, so obiously not a temporary thing.
New: Nyari bush camp in Kruger
What’s more, the fees raised by Nyari bush camp will go directly towards conservation. It’s good to know that your time in the wild will keep Kruger a wonderful wildlife destination for years to come. Further good news is that there is a special introductory offer of 30% off for bookings made for 2014.

You can experience the same on the Nossob Eco trail staying in 3 camps and driving for 4 days at the cost of R2575,50 per vehicle. That's about R515 per person for 3 days camping in unfenced camp together with a guide.
If you really want to spend the minimum to stay in unfenced camps, stay in one of the Botswana camps like Rooiputs at R200 per person for 3 days.

Makes the ridiculous new pricing at Mana Pools look like a bargain. They must be joking.

Crazy! R20 000 a pop if fully booked!
Almost as much as a private camp...without any overheads...
Don't think EIA required for such a small development, Toks...

This is also extremely elitist, to put it mildly...and shouldn't the money naturally go to conservation? Where else is it expected to go?
