Have seen lions almost every time we have done the S100.
2 leopard sightings and only one cheetah sighting.

What time does everyone drive the S100? I've heard some people say it's better not to drive it first thing in the morning, but rather a bit later...although we've tried all different times! -O

Where to Watch Game in the Kruger National Park, Nigel Dennis:
The S100 N'wanetsi River road is the most renowned viewing route close to Satara. I have heard of visitors having quite phenomenal game-viewing success here - upwards of 30 lion, as well as elephant and buffalo herds all in an hour or so of driving. Leopard sightings are often reported as well. I must admit that, although I have driven the S100 dozens and dozens of times, I have never had exceptional sightings: I guess it is just the luck of the draw!

We drive it at around 6:30am Flutts, but we have also had sightings at around 8am when coming down from Tamboti or Talamati. It's just luck and timing

Have done all options! Went out at first light once, despite a heavy previous evening camping with leachy and ladies, and saw great stuff including a leopard hunting in the road just before the picnic spot, although that isn't theoretically part of the S-100.
On other days, especially late evening, nothing! Also on other days, early morning, nothing!

Bushcraft challenges that the last loop tree I slept under was not a sausage tree...
And has bet R200 for Timbi on the outcome!
Photo evidence please!

Sausage tree

You will need the evidence to win this one RP.. -O -O
My trips on the S100 :
Scanning the bush for lion as the lone impala was nervous
and I found one of the 'Catwalks' - but the name board was removed and the lions got lost.. -O
I experienced this drive as the 'Raptor' drive..
some hornbills on the dam wall
and buff leaving the waterhole
