Lis, I don't think the bakkie took the lower "bridge" by accident. That is ancient! Complaints were raised about the feeble guiderails on the bigger bridge after the previous incident. The same problem exists at the Mbyamiti bridge, version 3.1...

Hi RP,
I might be off topic here but I am not in favor of any guard rails on KNP bridges - they impede taking photos from your vehicle - especially sedan cars.
Rather a very low speed limit with a huge speed bump or two each end to ensure the bridge is approached at a safe speed.
But it is a given that some-where some-one will still not adhere to the basic human sense of self preservation and go kill himself, no matter how safe circumstances are.

But I think at most bridges with guard rails one can get out to take pics?
Probably wont be allowed at the narrow bridges...it's really only this one and Mbyamiti...
