any idea what the other concrete structure is ????

the one that this heron is "fishing" from b h (before hippos)

i was told that it is an inlet from a pipeline that comes from the river to fill the dam up if it gets too low

Very good pic!

You can clearly see the granulations in the concrete!


Can't say, but water does come in from the river to keep the Dam perfect!

A rare visitor...this singleton ran north from within sight of the dam for a km or two next to my car...and I had to keep up quite a pace while shooting from the hip!!
