One cloudy morning a few K's south of Marion Barrie a Huge lion was roaring unsighted up the mountain in thick Addo thicket bush..I went and found one of MANY game pathes and picked one and switched off. He was silent now ...He could have crossed 100 metres or more in front of me or worse still behind me ..5 mins later he appeared at my window ..'Bitterbal' the Addo enforcer...Sadly in my excitement of having him 4 metres away looking right at me I was using a consumer camera (D200) with the pop up flash which I popped up unbeknown so against my strict no flash at Carnivores/Nocturnal creatures he got a flash right into his sensitive retinas > I was disgusted with myself

I really enjoy parking by myself at Carol's Rest...The animals come close for portrait opps
