O\/ O\/ O\/

That is Hanri with two of her own cubs and the two she "adopted" from her sister Corinne. Definitely a very unique sighting as it doesn't happen that often that cubs end up with a different mum and that mum is willing to accept and feed the extra two mouths :-0

So even though I have been to the park numerous times...and I mean numerous times...there were quite a few "Firsts" for us as well. "Firsts" being sightings that we had not seen in the park before. Clearly the frog sighting was a "First" but besides that we had a few other exciting "Firsts" . ^Q^ Unfortunately I am fighting a bit with technology this evening....so the other exciting "Firsts" are going to have to wait a until I have managed to sort out some video footage.

In the meantime I will share some " Firsts" in the bird department.

My very first photo that I took in the park was that of a White-winged Tern at Samevloeing. A "First" and unusual bird sighting for us. Who would expect to see a Tern in the KTP. And here is a photo to prove it....:)

Image

Other Bird " Firsts" were a Kittlitz's Plover just south of Lijersdraai Picnic Site

Image

A Cape Wagtail at Melkvlei...

Image

and a Western Yellow Wagtail at Marie se Gat...

Image

Cape Teals at Rooiputs and

Image

a Common Greenshank at Kij KIj

Image

A Red-faced Mousebird at 13th Borehole and

Image

two Egyptian Geese at Urikaruus Waterhole.

Image

and the only lifer of the trip was a Bradfield's Swift
