At around 1am I woke up to the Cow whispering in my ear “Are you awake”, which technically meant that I was now awake.
“What’s that?”
“There’s something outside the tent and its chewing!”
I reluctantly exited the front of the tent to find Humphrey the bush pig outside and he seemed to be trying to chew the side of the braai stand, but he got a skrik as the Cow loudly announced “Bush Pig!!” and charged off, so we went back to bed, however minutes later we could hear Humphrey smashing around outside again but there’s no way I was getting out of the warm bed.
The wind was blowing the next morning and it was a fairly suspect day, so we decided to sleep in a little. The rats also had to return to school the next day and the Cow needed to do some stationary shopping still, therefore we decided to pack the car, left camp at around 7am and headed for viewpoint 17 as we still hadn’t taken our traditional family pic.
We stopped for the odd local on the way to the viewpoint and found ellies in the riverbed below the viewpoint.

There were some rhino far in the distance but 1 looked different however the penny didn’t drop until the Cow chirped “That 1 charging around in and out the bush looks like a blackie!”
I grabbed the binoculars and it was a blackie, so I quickly snatched the first camera I could find but it was the Cow’s point and shoot t and I couldn’t find the hyped up rhino in the stupid display thing, so just pushed the button a few times.
The 1 pic once cropped indicated a blurred blackie

It was now around 8am, so we headed for Nyalazi gate stopping for a few more animals on the way.

We were out the park and on the road home just after 9am. It felt like we had just blinked our eyes and the weekend was over.
Thanks all
