The next day I went to Checkers and did some shopping and to Ackermann for a telephone. It is cheaper to buy a telephone than a SIM card; what I did not know though, was that if you do not use the telephone for “I don’t know how much time, maybe a week?” they block it and you can only do messages and emergency numbers 0*\

Next ‘must do’ was to buy the Wildcard which allows you to do a lot for a whole year, but hardly taken advantage of by overseas visitors. Excellent excuse for the exaggerated price, NOT! 0=

Unfortunately, I only started taking notes after a few days, so the first pics are a bit mixed up, but I am sure that you couldn’t care less \O

My first drive in the Park:

I was still going through the gate when two dwarf mongooses flew across the road, never knew they have wings for special occasions :-? ;-) Since then every time I entered or exited the gate I looked for those two brown spots, but never saw them again

The first destination was, of course, Sable hide on the S51 and many other times during my stay

First glimpse of an elephant, but not the last =O:

Not yet time to start the long trip to Europe

OoH! Those were my first elephant after 4 years with no elephants

A nice gentleman, who just arrived when I was about to leave, told me there were 2 male lions lying close to the road a bit further on O/\

A curious zebra (It was also my first zebra ;-) )

On the road looking right and left or was it left and right :-? in order not to miss the lions O-/

It would have been impossible to miss them, they were very close, one of them almost touched the road with the right paw lol

I agree that the Wild Card is crazily expensive for internationals, but still worth it's money from about day 6 or 7 onwards.
You'll probably will have made good use of it as well? And if not - start planning your January 2020 trip (or rather December,
so it's still within a year lol )

That lion is not only not sleeping, he's also rather handsome for a Kruger lion O:V

One of them was very handsome, the other one less.

December is what I would like too, we'll see \O
