Strange those insects around the eye of the kudu

Flies are common on the antelopes, but these don't look like flies
Nice zebra pics

Last but not least this little fellow
Another and maybe last Marakele trip done
I am not prepared to break my car in a park where Sanparks don't bother to fix the roads even after several emails requesting that the roads be repaired

Lovely Protea
Klipspringer
It is not a pleasure if you are all tense driving on a washboard

It is one of the loss-making parks, but that is not an excuse and without maintenance it gets even worse.
At least I enjoyed the trip sitting comfortably on a chair

Some really lovely shots there. The scenery is magnificent, as well as the protea close-up. Klipspringers always bring a smile

, tip-toeing around on big boulders as they do.
The moths, of course, were attracted to the moisture around the eyes, just like you often see lots of bflies around puddles, esp. in the KTP and arid areas. I have never seen them on an animals eyes like that, so great capture!
That's one of the tricks in macro photography - pour water on the ground, and the insects will come a runnin'.

Lovely sightings and pics.

So sad that the park is not being maintained!

Ja, road maintenance seems to be too much trouble...
