I'm certainly not going "Whhhhooooooooieeeee, such good work" and think it's only those that like to kiss bu..s elsewhere that do, as 102 rhinos poached this year IMO is a total failure O/

An extract below from “Latest stats on rhino poaching”, which I just received
The slight drop in the number of rhino being killed per week may be attributed to the implementation of the turnaround strategy aimed at eliminating poaching by SANParks.

In 2012, South Africa was losing up to three rhino a week. This year the number of rhino poached has decreased to 2 per week.

I’m either doff or someone battles with maths

668 rhino poached in 2012 and 52 weeks in 2012 = 12.8 rhino per week
102 rhino poached in 2013 to date and 7 weeks = 14.5 rhino per week

:-? :-?

Agreed that the intention is to sugar coat the killings by adding arrests immediately...I'm still trying to get my head around the breakdown of the figures only to be on a monthly basis by the DEA, originally! -O-

As RobT said a while back, you don't measure success on the number of poachers killed or arrested, success has to be measured by a drop in numbers of Rhino poached.

We can kill as many poachers as we can, but if the number of Rhino poached continues without dropping they will become extinct and we might halve the human population of Africa. Almost a catch 22 if you ask me. O**

IMO, until this number hits ZERO, there is NO success!!! \O

So many times do I have to read, "Keep on tropic",
"Can you prove the allegation", be consequent in
making remarks etc. etc..

Sanparks seem to have a right, far higher than our civil
rights, they can just say what they like, when they like and
how they like and stuff you civil society even though you are
our greatest support base!! We, Sanparks, just do what we
like even includes making mistakes.

Yup!

I'm planning a little summary of the mentality shift there over the last decade or so!
