I can't really recognize from your photo - was there renovations going on at no. 20 or not?

Glad you found at least some of the wild dogs again and had a more enjoyable environment. :-)

Well done to Orpen indeed for reacting so fast! ^Q^

Okay, that snake doesn't look too big... What did you do? Just carry on around it or wait till it had moved off?

The sunday morning we went out just after 6am and decided to visit Timbivati picnic area to make breakfast.

On the tar road between Orpen and Satara we found a few cars parked on the side. These guys were very nervous and kept looking in the same direction.

Image

Image

Not sure what they heard or saw but they couldn't get to rest. We left them after about 10 minutes.

Stopped at Timbivati picnic area, made our breakfast while we saw one after another jeep jockey pulling in.

Something weird is going on there because the picnic attendant jumped up and started helping them offloading all their stuff, even helped to carry tables and helped with preparing the food.

Not sure if they give him something extra on the side O** 0*\

Then we left at 11am for Satara to get diesel for the space ship.

On our way to Satara we took the S40 and at the Girivana intersection S40/S12 i saw a car parked on the S12. Wow we had more luck

Image

These two cheetahs were resting in the shade

We left them to get back at Satara for the diesel. Again i made it with only a few liters to spare 0- (the mopani flash backs were running in my mind) lol lol

We were still half an hour early but decided to go and check if Aat is home. Knocked on his door but nobody opened. Then had a peep inside and saw him taking a nap. :O^

Oh well i decided to leave and send him a text message. About 2km out of Satara my phone rang..............

It was Aat asking me to turn around =O: =O:

So what did i do -O- -O- -O- -O- -O- -O- -O-

I turned around \O

It was an honour to meet this great man. He has so much passion not only for tuskers but also for the bush.

He talked about how much luck he had once again on his trip and what amazing sightings he had. Promised i won't say anything :-0

After almost an hour chatting with Aat, we had to get back to camp as we forgot to take the meat out of the freezer the morning. 0*\

So on our way back we decided to check if the cheetahs were still there.....

Image

This time the one decided to stand up

Image

Somewhere on our way back on the tar road we saw our only saddle billed stork

Image

We arrived back at camp. While sitting outside having a few X#X

These little guys gave us a visit. At one stage we counted 8 of them

Image

I have never seen them so relaxed. Normally they hide quickly but not these guys

Image

This will be our last evening in the park. :-(

The camp were very quiet with not many people. O/\ O\/
