We keep them boths. It's a Yellow Pany, unusual resting posture.

0/* Klippies - on the wasp we were discussing between ourselves Re: Vespidae (Quartinia vs. Celonites), would other pics help you to decide, with poss. other angles, as I have a few? If not, I won't bother to post them, but will send them to the experts. Or, if you know the differentiating elements, let me know, and I can look at them myself. -O-

The moth had flown inside during the night and was resting on the curtain the next day, along with some other nocturnal insects. I didn't actually witness the spider grab it, but I assume it must be pretty easy while they are inactive. -O-

I’ve written up the entry for L. hirsuta, but am somewhat confused based on the descriptions. Are they both females, as neither has the :
Male: very hairy pedipalps of the male-see photo below
L_hirsuta.jpg
Female
Abdomen swollen, brownish fawn, clothed in short brown and orange hairs, among them scarce longer brown bristles. In fresh specimens not poorly defined pattern on abdomen; irregular lighter median streak, three pairs of whitish small rounded spots cling to it, dark diagonal patches on sides.
Male
Abdomen oval; blackish brown, covered with dense greyish hairs, among them longer brown bristles.

Certainly "fits" file 3, but are females also sometime dark, not just the males? 0:
