Lots to see again, Pumbaa!
That S28 is not my favourite road, hit and miss! But what an elephant!
I think Gump and I saw it a few years ago too!
Love the croc and the warthog in mud!
And we saw a whiteheaded vulture at the waterhole too once!
When it was dryer the S28 is in summer a very good road otherwise the grass is far too high along that road - Nevertheless we always give same a chance

At that hour of the day the waterhole was lying right in the sun with nearly no trees casting any shadow therefore the more luckly we were that there was so much to be seen and besides the white headed vulture who stood there quite a while we
noticed a herd of wildebeests
after the impalas had quenched their thirst as well
and to our joy we noticed that the wild dogs as well as the hyenas were still there as well. The wild dogs now were lying directly in the water or mud
and now even zebras appeared as well first a very tentative mom and her youngster
but after a while more and more arrived
and most of them also had a couple of green gulps as well
it was such an incredible come and go with the many zebras it was amazing – the ones who quenched their thirst made way for others and they walked off whilst others were about to arrive.
For sure we also still kept an eye onto the wild dogs and hyenas but in the beginning most of the wild dogs were invisible but one of the hyenas was still lying on the great rock which must had heated up already extremely
and meanwhile more wildebeests arrived as well and we were a bit unable to cope where to look first.
From wild dogs who sometimes lifted the head,
to white headed vulture

or to that hyena who made itself the most comfortable pose to survive the hot day
or to more zebras.
Here is a long shot where you hopefully can still see the wild dogs in front, the hyenas in or close to the water whilst now as well giraffes appeared on the scene
who neared slowly the waterhole, looking into each direction as only giraffes do
whilst the hyena in the blazing sun had now enough and searched for a place in the shade
and finally after uncountable look around the giraffes decided it was safe and also started to drink
only to decide later the the place a little bit more to the left is much more comfortable or safer.
The hyenas were totally unimpressed about the fuss around them
and stayed in the water
whilst the giraffes were still thirsty.
to be continued........................

Surprising that the giraffes drank at the water hole despite so many predators being around.

But sharp teeth
Quite a lot of hustle and bustle at the waterhole
Even if the zebras are only black and white they make the scene colourful and vivid
The hyenas know how to get the best out of any circumstance

We were also surprised but obviously the hyenas as well as the wild dogs looked not that dangerous that morning

At least it took a while until they thought it was safe to drink
