Wait until you see the scary monster bug I found a couple of days later - it even freaked me out!

Day 8. Sunday 24 May 2014. Shingwedzi -> Pafuri -> Shingwedzi.

Time to go to my favourite place in the Park, Pafuri. Up early and on our way as the gates open.

Along the way, an immature Ground Hornbill.

A quick detour to Klopperfontein Dam netted yet another herd of Buffs.

And a Hippo who didn't like being disturbed.

On one of the rockpiles to the north, The Sentinel was watching.

A few minutes later, nesting Ground Eagles.

We were flagged down by some people who were heading south and given detailed directions to a Lion sighting - 200m past milestone 27 - "it's a bit bushy"!

We spent a while driving up and down when we got there - "a bit bushy" was an understatement. It was so thick we couldn't see more than a couple of metres into the bush.

Unfortunately no Lions were in evidence but I did get a couple of rather splendid Butterflies.

Everyone who goes to Pafuri knows Beobab Hill - it's all downhill from here....

to the Luvuvhu River....

This is what the flood left behind.

I don't remember seeing Hippo at K. before either but we only visit on our way to Pafuri.

Rock Hyrax is new one in the camera for me!

Lots of water everywhere in the Park!

Must try freewheeling one day! ;-)
