At Kieliekrankie we were allocated unit 2 and were very happy to see that the barn owls are still here

At 5 pm we left for an afternoon drive as we wanted to look for the Auchterlonie female and Elena. Our first sighting was a pcg with its dinner
We saw many springboks around Auchterlonie and these willies at the waterhole

some of the springboks tried to walk on two legs
which obviously was not that easy and they had to hold on

a little bit further on we saw the only Vereaux’s eagle owl in plain view
and a common fiscal
All of a sudden my SO hit the brakes again and was complaining about speeding visitors. He said „see what they did“ and reversed. There was an animal and something dark which he thought was blood and made him think of a roadkill. This actually turned out to be one of the best sightings of this trip....

11.10.2013 - continued
The roadkill turned out to be a roadkill – but of a different kind, no humans involved

This was our last day in the park. We were the only ones to go on a morning drive. Suddenly we saw something on the road which looked like a bush but turned out to be two porcupines –our first farewell gift. Unfortunately the camera was still switched off and the lens tightened. Thus, when I was ready the porcupines already disappeared behind some bushes.
