Glad to read you had another pleasant visit to KNP and thanks for the Shipene photos, he has real iconic looks.

Btw, this reasonable tusker was on SP's Satara webcam this morning :-
( pls pardon the copy quality.)

Sorry, the updates to Africa Wild no longer allows me to make attachments from my tablet - those interested will hae to look it up on the SP website.

Something is not working properly on this website - now I have submitted this post twice and not possible to delete one of them.

Thanks 100ponder, If it was Shipene on satara's cam he is really heading south, next stop Croc Bridge ? :-?

Two days after meeting Shipene and just arrived in Shingwedzi my great friend MANDZEMBA appeared in the Shingwedzi riverbed.
It was very early in the morning , we left camp at 6 AM , turning right and from the bridge I could make these pictures.

7th time I met him so for me he is one of the special ones. I remember I saw him first in 2009 and was sure he would be a big tusker later on. Other "experts" just said , no, not an emerging tusker.... in 2018 these "experts" recognized him as tusker ..... lol lol

So, not a joke but April 1st I saw him again.

I like this picture where he is part of the environment , his "home".
