Finishing off last weekend's bumper crop of creepies.... Sorry Nan, lots of 8 legged ones in this post.
A Robber Fly with its prey.
A Banded-Eyed drone Fly on a daisy caught my eye.... I had to look closely to see that a superbly camouflaged Crab Spider had it in its clutches!
Yet another unidentified fly.
A Common Hairy Field Spider with a white flash.
Damselfly Close-up.
And I think this is a House Mosquito.
One more picture to post but I'm waiting for someone to guess what it is!

Don't we know that part of one of your insects already? 
That crab spider sequence is stunning! Exactly the same colour as the flower - amazing how some critters can adapt.

Thanks Mel, I'm constantly amazed by nature - that Crab Spider was difficult to see, if it hadn't caught the Fly, I probably wouldn't have seen it.Mel wrote:Don't we know that part of one of your insects already?

On Wednesday evening my SO brought a couple of bugs home from work (Hartebeeshoek, NW Province) for me to photograph.
A Katydid?
And a very striking Striped Antlion (Hagenomyia tristis)?
I also noticed these two beautiful moths near an outside light.
