Good sighting, though not self-spotted lol And re timing, you were late, otherwise you would have seen the wild dogs chasing the leopard =O:

But indeed a remarkable sighting O/\

We were just the three vehicles and I maneuvered the car as best as I could, the sun was directly behind the Leopard but that was as good as it got. I heard the guide explain to his American guests that Wild dogs chasing a Leopard up a tree was very rare indeed and this was the 1st time he had ever seen such a thing. You could clearly see that the Leopard was very uncomfortable indeed as it gingerly tried to turn around between the branches that hemmed it in.

It's not rare at all! Anything can chase a leopard up a tree...they are not interested in fighting/risking injury unnecessarily, which is maybe one of the reasons why they have specialised in tree-climbing! \O

As with most predators, however, they will kill competitors on a one-on-one basis...cheetah for example!

Oh ok thanks RP just going by what the bush Jock had to say, but does make sense as solo predators I am sure that even the slightest injury could spell certain death. \O
Still take the sighting of two in one, it was a great morning. O/\

Thanks Flutts, yes it was remarkable, it was not yet 08:00 and we had had the two sightings of our trip to date. O/\
The aim of the day was to get to Letaba I remarked to my partner that should we see anything on route it would be a bonus. O\/ O\/ O\/
