At the bird hide, the floods from earlier in the year had cleared out the riverside vegetation so that there was a clear view of the remaining pools in the riverbed.



A Wood Sanpiper was foraging along the water's edge.



Crocs sunbathed on the exposed banks.



After continuing on Southwards for a while, we saw this Zebra stallion on his lonesome.





And a lone Giraffe with darker markings than usual.





A small flock of Cut-throat Finches were on a roadside bush.



Along with an LBJ which I've yet to ID - any guesses out there? (I'm thinking Indigobird )

A Sanpiper is someone who spouts drivel concerning a certain.....oh, nevermind.

Those black giraffe bulls are normal, but the coat patterns go all over the place...wish someone would do a study!

At the rear you can see the stripes out of allignment....

This is generally thought to be from injuries caused by predators at an early age, after which the skinflaps heal.

But I'm starting to wonder...it is seen more and more often? However, it's the classic "claws on the but" spot!
