Large herd of buffs and antelopes are fantastic, but unfortunately they can't compete against a bush pic couple lol

Hope you'll get to see that aardvark soon \O

Not very motivating if you have to wait yet another 18 months 0*\ ;-)

I think the chances of seeing the aardvark are very slim unfortunately. I know it has been out on a few afternoons, but not when I'm in the park O/ O/
I'll keep looking, but I'm not hopeful 0: 0:

Over near the fire base there was another (smaller) herd of buffalo. I was wondering if there were any lion around as this herd would be quite an easy target with many youngsters, but no cats appeared

I decided to back-track and check out Harveys Loop, and found this cute baby ellie waiting impatiently for mom to finish eating lol

Image

It really was quite the little clown, and to pass time would pick up rocks from the side of the road, put them in her mouth and then drop them again. I'm not sure whether there were some salts that she was enjoying the taste of, or whether she was maybe teething.... either way it was very funny to watch \O

While the youngster was waiting for mom, a couple of fairly large bulls were next to my car and decided to have a bit of a wrestle. This resulted in one moving backwards in my direction and I was genuinely worried he might crash into my car
Thankfully at the last second he changed direction and managed to steer clear of me... they were very close indeed

Image

For once, Hapoor had no elephants in sight, but there were a couple of yellow mongoose running around looking for bugs to eat

Image

Image

There were also some helmeted guineafowl. Such strange creatures - they never seem to be able to stop arguing amongst themselves 0*\

Ja, good move not to start/accelerate the car behind the ellie bull! lol \O

Never seen bushpig in a National Park either... :-0

Thanks everyone \O

It was time to head south and see whether the earth pig might make an appearance

At the crossroads there were a couple of elephant who seemed to be arguing about who had permission to drink

Image

On the way round Ngulube, Valli Moosa was visible in the distance O:V

Image

The pig has been sighted on Mbotyi loop, but on this day it chose to hide. However while waiting there were some nice sightings of eland and jackal O/\

Image

Image

Image

After waiting around for a while it was time to head, but the huge buffalo herd from the morning were blocking the route along Mbotyi so I had to double-back just to get out the park in time 0*\ lol

We were enjoying those quarrels every morning when we did the Gorah Loop towards Zuurberg!

Oi! That little ellie is seriously close and awfully cute :-0

Great shots of the elands too, also very close O/\

And a massive road buff, uhm, block on your way home lol Even without the aardvark quite a good day at Addo O:V
