Further along, two hippos were having a dispute on the riverbank.



One decided that he had had enough...



So headed down to the river to get away.





Meanwhile, the aggressor wanted to show who was boss.



And opened his mouth into the yawning threat display.



And wider.



And wider.



And wider.



Until he was sure that he had seen his rival off.

A wide open hippo mouth is not really attractive But the angle you caught him with is great because most of the time you see pix from the side or even from behind. So despite the ugliness of the inside your photos are actually rather brilliant.
