Good morning
Friday Funny Story...
This takes place on the Sabi Sands reserve again... One summer evening, during sundowners, we were leisurely having an ice cold
, as you do when on these drives... The boys needed to visit the back of the vehicle to relieve themselves....
We happened to be hot on the tail of a pride of Lions in the area. They were apparently more or less 1km from where we were at that stage, so we decided before it gets to dark and late for a sundowner, we would stop and have our drinks before going in search again...
After the second round, we heard a deep grunt
. Myself and my Dad, were at the back of the vehicle, while the girls were in front... Obviously close to the vehicle...
Suddenly the ranger turned the spotlight towards the back, just about blinding my dad and myself, and not 60meters down the road was a huge male leopard walking toward us
!!! I have never seen people move as fast as i did that evening. My mom in one hand had a glass of wine, in the other hand at this stage was my younger sister, and she did a leap into the vehicle, without spilling a drop of wine, or dropping my sister
. My dad and me, were in the vehicle before the leopards next step, with our zips still down!!!
Just shows, how quickly things can change in the bush... We eventually found the Lions, who took on a buff that evening... One to remember!!!
