27th Skukuza to Talamati continued

There were lions of all sizers including a teenager wailing in the road, but there was 1 little junior amongst the pride that stole the show.

They slowly started to move off into the bush on the other side of the road and when junior disappeared after mom we continued on, but stopped again a few hundred meters later as a male lion turned and disappeared into the riverbed.

Our next stop was in the Nkuhlu area as a leopard was lying in a game trail watching something. You could only see it if you stopped opposite the trail and the morning sun was shining down the trail so it was harsh on the eyes and a mission to take pics.

The leopard eventually decided to snooze with his bum facing us and there were a few cars behind us, so we moved on towards the H12.

About 1km before the H12/H1-2 intersection we hit a timing luck as a herd of sable walked out the thicker bush and into the open.

They were walking on a diagonal line towards the road so we followed along next to them until the leading aunty started peeking at us from behind an ant hill next to the road.

Another car was following along with us so I said to the driver

“They want to cross the road, if we move back slightly they will walk across in front of us.”

He nodded and we both reversed 20m and in seconds the leading aunty took the first steps across and the rest followed including the main dude who was taking up the rear.

I was surprised to see 1 small cub like that cruising around with older cubs as it looked too young O-/

Very lucky timing with those Sable as they didn't hang around \O

I'm concerned that the mini lion cub was too young to be in the mix O-/
