Re: Incident with leopard
Veldwagter het 'n soektog van stapel gestuur en die wyfie luiperd opgespoor.
Weens haar swak toestand is sy van kant gemaak.
Rangers searched for and found the female, and put her down due to poor condition...
(Roger's second link.)

Re: Incident with leopard
The latest set of pics that I have seen (from OD’s site) indicates to me that it’s the same leopard. A male put down and definitely a male attacking the guide which is clearly visible in the new set of pics.
One can also see that the guide was trying to reverse and get out of the situation but the leopard chased after the OSV.

Re: Incident with leopard
Now if you look at the pics from bottom to top it tells a different story.
OSV in forward motion, leopard rolls in front of OSV. Was he hit?
Leopard jumps on bonnet.
Then OSV reverses motion, going backwards with leopard in tow. You can see from the sand shooting forwards from the tyres.
Then Leopards "cunningly dissapears"
to the drivers side of the vehicle.
Only then the attack. cause he was hurt in the first pic by the vehicle hitting him.
BUT, that is only if you look at the sequence from last to first, so I am only saying it could have happened the other way around.

nothing changed, i have not grown up yet.
Re: Incident with leopard
I find this quite interesting :
Quote
" He saw a woman in another vehicle hanging out halfway, photographing the animal. He warned her to get back into the car,” Greyling said.

Well done to the guide , he probably saved the tourist from being attacked , but became the victim instead

Enough is enough
Re: Incident with leopard
I believe there's a vid of this event.
Will try and find it
I see those who have watched it say the leopard was driven over after the fact by another car
