Thanks for commenting Mel, Nan, ExFmem & Flutt's. \O X#X

Mel - I love listening to hippos haw-hawing away. \O

Nan - There is a yellow-billed in the 4th & 5th pics. \O It was pecking the poor hippo's bloody eye (see pic 6). \O

ExFmem - They had been to the cinema to watch "The Water Horse." ;-) O** Sorry, I'm skint after this strip, so the loan will have to be put on hold. lol Funnily enough, I thought that I'd not taken as many pics that I was happy with at the end of this trip, but I'm slowly changing my mind as I go through them. \O

Flutt's - They played Hip-pooh Sticks afterwards. lol ;-)

Another highlight when visiting the Chobe is being able to get up close to elephants. They seem to ignore boats and their occupants and continue behaving naturally. In fact, almost all the elephants we encountered in Botswana were chilled out. The only "stressed" individual we saw was a matriarch who wanted to cross the road ahead of us with her herd, which included a very young calf. She gave us one shake of the head, then relaxed when we pulled over to allow them to cross.

On the Chobe, I managed some really close portrait shots.

Then enjoyed a session of photographing this individual feeding on the lush grasses.

Image

Marvelling on how dextrous they are with their trunks.

Curling it around a clump of grass.

And placing it in its mouth.

Then repeating the process endlessly.
