If I was mauled by a leopard and try to get away, I will do just what he did. I don't even think that he realized that he drove over it the second time, I suppose he was in shock. Now he is going to get "beaten" by everybody because he drove over it.

On another point, I do feel it was unnecessary for the Hyandi to drive over it as well. That was uncalled for. That driver just witnessed what happened and he still just try to kill it

The driver of the Hyundai had no right to drive over the leopard, especially since the drama was over and Skukuza camp is only 2.4km away, so people should have stayed away from the leopard and reported to Skukuza O/

The Hyundai driver must be charged

Joker, I really mean no offence at you BUT. He is supposed to be a trained guide, a nature-kenner, bigtime Gameranger as many call themselves after obtaining FGasa.

And the Hyundi driver, he is a *&%#$$*@, (See, I stopped swearing here 0*\ )

As a trained guide, this is one thing, guide error, no more and no less. And looking at the leopard,, the terrible injuries because he was put down came during this incident, he was very good during the attack. I say, re-look at training for these jeep jocks.

From SAN PARKS Facebook :

Dear friends.
With regards to the Leopard incident, SANParks are investigating the factors surrounding the incident. Joep Stevens will be collecting all the information available. Any eye witnesses with video and photographic evidence please email joep.stevens@sanparks.org. As some of you will know, an autopsy has found that the Leopard was very sick and had no food contents in its stomach. Whilst this is a very isolated incident, we must attempt to draw lessons from it. The report will be published on completion.
Regards
Glenn Phillips.

Nhongo Safaris

Social Media Statement of Leopard Attack with Nhongo Safaris.
We couldn’t be more proud of the heroic actions that our guide, Curtis Plumb, took today to protect the life of seven international tourists on a game drive in Kruger National Park.
On the morning of July 2, Curtis identified a leopard acting in a suspicious manner.
After warning other tourists in the area to be cautious, Curtis sprang into action when the leopard launched a surprise attack on our vehicle. He dove in front of our clients, lodging himself between the attacking leopard and our clients and using his own arm as a shield.
The leopard didn’t let go. After several horrifying minutes, Curtis was able to get the leopard to release and run away, thanks to the help of the other passengers in the area.
Curtis has been taken to hospital and is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. The incident was reported to the South African National Parks Authorities who have captured and euthanized the animal in question.

As some of you will know, an autopsy has found that the Leopard was very sick and had no food contents in its stomach.
For those that dont know any better, various predators, at various stages in their life will not feed for days. Reasons being mating when they dont hunt, just bad luck in the hunting, and many more. If that is the reason for killing the leopard, well SANParks, go kill 50% of your predators at any one time. Just remember, we are not all ignorant.

For Nongho Safaris, go talk your K@&%^ another place, your guide raced up to the sighting to get the best view for his guests and got a surprise, AGAIN, we are not all ignorant. So please dont offend intelligent humans with your drivel.

On the attack, a spokesman for SANParks told MailOnline Travel: This is a very rare occurrence. The animal was captured and was found to be in a very poor state.
'It is estimated to be 16 to 17 years old, its fangs were worn out which means it might not have had a meal in a long time. It had TB and was very emaciated.
'The attack on the OSV truck was perhaps a desperate attempt at getting a meal unfortunately a guide became a victim.
