Yes, that can happen that after first couple of months people stop paying the insurance, in which case if they have an accident they are liable for the damage to their own vehicle and can be sued by the insurance from other vehicle. In days gone by it was compulsory to have 3rd party insurance and this would be checked at roadblocks, this just covered other vehicles on road if you hit them but not your vehicle. If I recall it was also a disc that you had to have on display like your licence disc.

Here too you can limit the insurance to damages on third party's car and passengers :yes:

The accident is also in Swiss media, but first edition where it is said that the driver is Swiss :-? They are trying to find out if this is so.

Speedy recovery to the tourists!

I see the SP Kruger FB page is now swamped with posts where "An admin turned off commenting for this post." generally preceded by the following statement:

Dear members of this group, and on other groups/pages, and various Social Media platforms;

SANParks is taking legal steps against those who have been using vulgar and racist comments on issues. Prepare yourselves as this nonsense has to be nipped in the bud at some stage. This is not a threat but a promise. Racial prejudice should not be tolerated. We want people to think before posting stupid and ignorant and irrelevant comments.

People go a bit nuts on social media for sure, but this is really creating a bit of an us vs them scenario which surely doesn't help the whole situation. If SP could actually give a bit of feedback on investigations just once maybe there wouldn't be so much trial by social media -O- 0:

Exactly! Speculations can be dangerous in this country, but with some information, this can be avoided.

I have seen how some of those taxi drivers break the rules in an extremely dangerous way. I once avoided one going against the traffic direction by a mere 5 cm :O^

All the taxi drivers in SA keep to the rules

All of their vehicles are roadworthy

None of them will ever speed

None of them will just stop anywhere they want

None of them will drive on the shoulder of the road

None of them will hit a giraffe that walks over the road

They are all innocent O**
